Translational stem cell and leukemia research

SR-Tiget Unit
Bernhard Gentner, Group Leader

The Gentner Lab was founded in 2015 as a spin-off from the Naldini lab. We are a competitive lab operating at the intersection of science and clinics and spanning the whole spectrum from basic to translational research, with a focus on non-coding RNAs, hematopoietic stem cells and cancer. The lab benefits from the unique infrastructure of the San Raffaele Scientific Institute and SR-Tiget including an on-site University Hospital with one of Italy’s most active hematopoietic stem cell transplantation units, a large biobank, a world-leading gene therapy program, a GLP preclinical pipeline for translational cell and gene therapy studies and a comprehensive research infrastructure including cell sorting, animal facilities with advanced imaging capabilities and next-generation sequencing.
